About Bhoomi Seva
Bhoomi Seva is a volunteer-led social initiative working with rural communities in Karnataka. It runs education support, farmer training and desi cow donations, and practical support for children's homes.
Bhoomi Seva began from a simple desire to help where practical support can make a real difference. Our work focuses mainly on rural communities and brings together volunteers, donors, teachers, farmers and local organisations.
In education, we support deserving students through scholarships, school and college fees, tutoring, mentoring, JNV entrance coaching and guidance toward other scholarship opportunities. For farmers, we promote natural and organic farming and agroforestry through training and awareness, and we donate desi cows to selected marginal farmers. We also support children's homes with meals, education costs, laptops, bicycles, clothing, LPG cylinders and other needs.
Bhoomi Seva works at a human scale. Rather than limiting ourselves to a single type of assistance, we try to understand what a student, farmer, family or children's home actually needs and help within our capacity.
Mission
Bhoomi Seva's mission is to reach out and help people in need in various ways, especially the rural population, and to rejuvenate our environment within our capacity.
Vision
To uplift the rural population and improve the fertility of soil by encouraging farmers to take up agroforestry and/or natural farming, in the Kanakapura area to start with.
The people
Bhoomi Seva is run by volunteers and advisers who also work and live outside the organisation.

Lakshmi C. Karle
Volunteer / Adviser
Lakshmi is a social worker focused on rural development, children's education, natural farming, agroforestry and environmental restoration. Alongside her social work, she has around two decades of experience as a software engineer in the IT industry.

Manukumar V.
Consultant, Organic Farming & Agroforestry
Manukumar works with rural communities to promote agroforestry and natural and organic farming, with a focus on farmer awareness and practical training. He also brings more than 20 years of experience in marketing and retail sales.

Shashidhara A. S.
Consultant, Farmer Connect & Social Media
Shashidhara has years of experience bringing together young farmers interested in organic farming, organising training and guidance, and extending farmer outreach through social media. He is also involved with the Vishamukta Mandya awareness campaign.

Shubhashri C. G.
Consultant, Education
Shubhashri teaches, coaches and mentors students through Bhoomi Seva and helps coordinate initiatives. She previously spent around a decade as a software engineer and now works in graphic design, web development and online tutoring.
Our volunteers
Bhoomi Seva has a group of volunteers who teach, coach and mentor underprivileged students. It also has around 95–110 volunteers who donate in support of various initiatives.
