Bhoomi Seva is a volunteer-led social initiative supporting rural communities in Karnataka. We help students continue their education through scholarships, tutoring and mentoring; work with farmers to promote natural farming and agroforestry; provide desi cows and other livelihood support to selected marginal farmers; and assist children's homes with meals, education, equipment and essential needs.
Children & Community
Meals, school and college fees, laptops, bicycles, clothing, stationery, furniture, LPG cylinders, medical and emergency support for children living in care.
Education
Scholarships and school fees for merit rural students, free online coaching for the JNV entrance exam and for Class 10, and guidance toward other scholarship opportunities.
Farmers & Environment
Training and awareness in natural and organic farming and agroforestry, and desi cow donations to marginal farmers who want to make the switch.
How we work
Sunita Kumara Swamy's family at Kurubarahalli Doddi near Kabbalu needed more than one thing at once. Their daughter's school fees had become hard to pay, and the household was running on a single source of income. Bhoomi Seva helped with three: a scholarship and fee payment for their daughter, a desi cow for the family's farm and dairy income, and a sewing machine for a second income.
